$3.8 Million Rolls-Royce Phantom seen in Paris today
When strolling through Avenue Hoche this afternoon, only 100 yards from Arc de Triomphe, I unknowingly stumbled upon some event, some avant-première.A couple of guys unpacked a set of stretched wheels. Black, well polished, no license plates. Obviously Rolls-Royce. Surprisingly left hand driven, which makes this Rolls extremely convenient as Péage burner.
The strange thing was: I observed no Forbes Celebrity 100 species. The type of supermodel, singer or golfer one would expect with a vehicle of this impact. Suddenly it became ll clear to me: the car was the star.
There was a bunch of tyre-kickers in custom suits and some bobo sipping champagne in the lush cream leather backseat of the car. You think he is a lucky man? Unfortunately he is not. Being driven in an automobile like this, while swallowing your bubblies-de-prestige is deadly serious business, not fun.
This car is heavely armoured. It is the brand new shoulder-launched-missile-proof Rolls-Royce. The RR Panzer so to say. The $3.8 Million Rolls-Royce, to be launched at the splurge fair in Gangzhou next december. It may be the first Rolls-Royce with a genuine unique selling point. Virtually indestructible...like a Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce nowadays relies heavily on BMW engineering skills. Their Hauptingenieure come from Germany, a country that holds a high reputation for its Schwere Panzer.
In this case they created a well designed car and more surprisingly, they left the caterpillars out. I consider this shed on wheels suitable for presidential meetings and funerals, not weddings. Rolls-Royce made a good try to outpanzer their competitors. Well done lads.
One final remark. This car will be presented as brand new and as a primeur in Gangzhou next december. As we know from now the Gangzhou Rolls has to be classified as a used car. As we knew already from our own experience, this is the kind of confession a car salesman will never make in fear to create a buyers remorse.
Don't spoil next Chinese automobile fiësta. Please be prudent in spreading the news that our secondhand Gangzhou Rollsy has already been yaba-daba-doing some Parisian avenue.
